O'Connor Method Camp 2018

What an amazing week at the O'Connor Method Camp in Charlotte!
Mark O’Connor has created an incredible method of learning the violin with great American music, fun and creativity. The kids absolutely love it, as you’ll see in this video. If you are a string teacher, I could not recommend it highly enough for you to try out.

Thank you Mark O'Connor for your invaluable service to our string playing community, and to children and adults around the world who want to experience the joy of playing a string instrument. Thank you also to all the extraordinary, talented teachers on this camp, including the genius musicians of the Mark O'Connor Band and my fabulous roommate Pamela Hamilton. And thank you to our wonderful Charlotte host Beth Brown, you truly gave me the opportunity to experience the best of southern hospitality.

Daisy's Headed to China!

We are going back to China! This time for a conference in Shanghai in October. There were so many photos that I didn’t get to post from our last tour there, here are a few. Thank you to my amazing band, our booking manager Yang Gao, and everyone who helped to make our last China tour such a success. And thank you to Felipe Souza and his amazing team at Specialty Handled Productions for taking us back there! I am infinitely grateful for the inspiration and support of this absolutely brilliant team. Thank you Felipe, Julia Zenteno, Liliana Galicia, Elena Garnes, Juan Paulo Gonzalez, I am in heaven working with you all!

Salut D'Amour for Aunt Jane

I played this piece with my brother for my dear aunt Jane’s celebration: Salut D’Amour by Edward Elgar. Edward Elgar was a friend of Jane‘s mother, and Jane’s whole life was simply a greeting of love, the name of this piece.

Happy Summer Everyone!

This is one of the most beautiful summers ever! So grateful for this beautiful garden of my dear friend Michael Bakwin, and his wonderful all-white croquet party. What fun!
